On March 8, 2022, employees of the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) took part in the online European MICROBOL Conference related to the project “Support Future Learning Excellence through Micro-Credentialling in Higher Education" supported by the European Commission.
The purpose of the event was to provide a platform for the exchange of experience and knowledge to stakeholders for discussing the ways for improving the quality of education in the future through micro-credentials in higher education in Europe and beyond.
During the Final Conference, the MICROBOL project partners presented the Common Framework for Micro-credentials in the European Higher Education Area, that has been developed within the project. Conference participants discussed the role of micro-credentials in higher education and how they relate to the Bologna key commitments.
The conference was attended by the representatives from higher education institutions, national ministries responsible for higher education, quality assurance agencies and the European interested organizations in the field of higher education.
Ann Verhaegen, Magalie Soenen (Flemish Ministry of Education and Training), Kinga Szuly (European Commission DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture), Elena Cirlan (EUA), Chiara Finocchietti (CIMEA) and Jonna Korhonen (Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture) delivered welcoming speeches and presentations.
