The forum was attended by employees of the education and science system, heads of universities and research institutes, members of the board of directors of universities, a council of young scientists, students, experts, representatives of the public council and accreditation agencies, including the president of the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) – Kalanova Sh.M.
The plenary session of the forum was opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov with a welcoming video message to the participants of the event, emphasizing the importance of developing higher education and science to achieve the country's economic growth. Within the framework of the forum, thematic sectional meetings on higher education and science were held:
1. "Improving corporate governance in universities" at Nazarbayev University. The participants of the session raised important issues of corporate governance in Kazakhstani universities.
2. "Vectors of socialization of students of universities" in Astana IT University. The participants of the panel session discussed the development of a comprehensive plan for the development of student sports for 2024-2028, anti-corruption policy in the field of higher and postgraduate education, the introduction of an integral, social GPA of students in the educational process, the work of the Student Council and the prevention of destructive behavior of young people.
3. "Academic policy of universities: new challenges and new priorities" at ENU. L.N. Gumilyov. Representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken", the National Center for Accreditation, the Center for the Development of Human Resources and vice-rectors of universities for academic issues became participants in the dialogue platform. The parties discussed the issues of improving the system for forecasting the need for personnel, the Mamandygym-bolashagym project, new approaches to awarding an educational order, as well as the development of doctoral split-programs, ethics and honesty in the academic policy of universities, criteria for evaluating learning outcomes in a developmental environment artificial intelligence and improving the certification system.
Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek made an extensive report, where he comprehensively touched upon the topic of science and education. Of the innovations, he said that the ministry, together with Google Corporation, is developing a course on literacy in the field of artificial intelligence, which will be introduced into the curricula of universities from next year. He spoke about reforms in the field of science, the reorganization of scientific structures, partnerships with the world's leading technical companies, the opening of branches of new foreign universities, and much more.
