On 3 October 2024, the Independent Quality Assurance Agency for Education (IQAA) hosted the President of the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) - Douglas Blackstock and the President of the European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) - Stéphane Lauwick.
During the visit, the IQAA team held a meeting where the guests got acquainted with the agency's team. The discussion covered such topical issues as the activities of quality assurance agencies and their selection by educational institutions, the use of artificial intelligence in learning, teaching and assessment, transparency of quality assurance in transnational education, and academic integrity.
Douglas Blackstock emphasised the importance of aligning national legislative frameworks and the activities of quality assurance agencies with ESG requirements to ensure the quality of higher education. It was noted that the key issues for accreditation agencies remain flexibility in the use of new approaches, innovation in quality assurance methodologies, which will maintain the relevance and added value of external quality assurance.
The IQAA team expresses its gratitude to its guests for the interesting and informative dialogue and looks forward to further productive cooperation with ENQA and EQAR.
