

On February 7, 2025, Astana hosted an expanded board meeting of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the topic "Personnel Training as the Foundation of a Competitive Economy and Sustainable Development: Innovation, Technology and Cooperation with Industry".
During the event, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, delivered a welcoming speech. He also presented housing certificates to young scientists, acknowledging their contribution to the development of science and education in the country.
The main topics of the meeting included issues related to effective cooperation in the field of training high-demand personnel, presented by Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education T.I. Yeshenkulov. The Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, G.J. Zhankuatov, discussed the implementation of the Law 'On Science and Technological Policy,' while Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education D.R. Shcheglova addressed the digital transformation of higher education and science".
Representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan also shared their experience with the "My Profession – My Future" project, as well as initiatives in the fields of digital transformation and state language policy in higher education and science.
During the meeting, presentations were made by representatives of universities, the Kazakhmys Corporation, the Science Foundation JSC, and the Akimat of the Almaty region, who shared their experience in creating an innovative ecosystem for regional universities, training highly qualified personnel for industry, developing R&D in the mining and metallurgical complex, Deep Tech venture financing in Kazakhstan, and new initiatives in state language policy.
The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, concluded the meeting, emphasizing that the training of highly qualified specialists is the key to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan and increasing its competitiveness.
