From 4 to 5 May 2017, in Oslo (Norway) there was a holding of the 7th ENQA Member’s Forum. This forum was hosted by Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT).
In the beginning of the forum, the welcominng speech was delivered by the President of ENQA Padraig Walsh and Director General of NOKUT Terje Mørland.
In the framework of the forum, the following topics were discussed:
- Developments in the Bologna Process and the way forward (speaker - Una Strand Vidarsdottir, senior adviser on higher education and science at the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in Iceland);
- Global view on higher education – finding common tools for improving quality (speaker - Taya Louise Owens, UNESCO);
- Unintended outcomes of quality assurance (speaker - Øystein Lund, NOKUT’s Deputy Director General);
- Governance-related changes in quality assurance agencies (speaker - Steffen Westergard, Director of Operations at the Danish Accreditation Institution);
- All education evaluation in one organisation – FINEEC (speaker - Helka Kekäläinen, Head of the Higher Education Evaluation Unit in FINEEC (Finnish Education Evaluation Centre) and Vice-President of ENQA.
The programme of the forum included the General Assembly meeting and breakout sessions for participants in order to discuss the main issues and opportunities in the system of quality assurance. The forum was attended by 120 representatives of ENQA member agencies.
