In February 2020, the European Register for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (EQAR) launched the DEQAR CONNECT project.
The DEQAR CONNECT project allows a wide range of users to access the quality assurance results based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) as well as the relevant external evaluation reports of agencies.
DEQAR CONNECT was selected to be co-funded by the EU as part of the Erasmus + call to support the implementation of reforms in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The project focuses on two key EHEA commitments, supporting quality assurance and recognition within the EHEA, and consists of two areas:
• Expansion: reach out to EHEA countries that are currently underrepresented in DEQAR, by supporting the participation of institutions that were unable to join DEQAR in the first phase.
• Improvement: Connect to the database by leveraging existing synergies and exploring new opportunities to use DEQAR data directly in the recognition process and for other purposes.
According to EQAR President Karl Dittrich, there is a high level of interest and commitment among quality assurance agencies and the database is an important milestone towards increasing transparency and recognition of education results in the EHEA.
IQAA has been working on uploading reports to the DEQAR database since 2018. Participation in this project is extremely important for the Agency, as IQAA stands for openness and transparency in all the processes of its activities.
