IQAA participated in the Forum "Quality Assurance of Higher Education: State and Prospects of Development" in Astana

On January 17, 2025, Astana hosted the Forum of the Committee for Quality Assurance in the Field of Science and Higher Education, titled "Quality Assurance of Higher Education: State and Prospects for Development". The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, rectors and vice-rectors of universities, heads of departments for scientific personnel training, accreditation agencies, editors-in-chief, and chairmen of dissertation councils.

The session discussed key issues of the mechanism for regulating the system of higher and postgraduate education, accreditation of higher education institutions, as well as the dynamics of Kazakhstani universities in the QS ranking.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, opened the plenary session by presenting the Ministry's achievements and outlining plans for the further development of higher and postgraduate education. Representatives of the Ministry and international experts also spoke at the forum, sharing the latest trends and international experience in education quality and accreditation.

Based on the outcomes of the forum, the directions for further work in the field of improving the quality of higher education and strengthening the role of accreditation as one of the important quality assurance tools were identified.
