From 20 to 23 November, the leadership of the Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (IQAA) took part in the 2025 APQN Annual Academic Conference (AAC) and the Annual General Meeting (AGM), organized by the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN). The local organizer of the event was the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ).
The conference was held in Hong Kong and brought together more than 200 representatives of accreditation agencies, universities, and research organizations from 45 countries. The theme of the 2025 conference was «Strengthening Industry Collaboration for Quality Higher Education», reflecting the current focus on enhancing cooperation between higher education and industry.
During the plenary sessions and thematic discussions, participants addressed the following issues:
- Expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and employers and industry partners;
- The quality of new learning formats, including micro-credentials and flexible learning pathways;
- Current trends in external quality assurance in the Asia-Pacific region;
- Digitalization of evaluation and accreditation processes;
- Enhancing transparency and international comparability of qualifications.
Representatives of IQAA took part in working sessions, discussions, and business meetings aimed at strengthening international cooperation and exchanging experience with leading agencies in the region. Participation in the event contributed to strengthening IQAA’s position within the APQN professional community and discussing prospects for further partnership projects.
