On April 12th 2016, IQAA held a seminar for the staff members by the Director of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), Maria Kelo. This seminar was conducted in framework of capacity and knowledge buiding of the IQAA sraff about activities of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and criteria for getting the membership in ENQA and EQAR.
A present, Maria Kelo is a Director of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and a Vice-President of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). Together with the Association’s President she represents ENQA in the E4 group and in the Bologna Follow-Up Group.
In her presentation on the topic: «ENQA requirements on agency reviews», Maria Kelo described the process of conducting the procedure of the external assessment for quality assurance agencies, which applied for the membership in ENQA. In course of the presentation, Maria Kelo gave practical advices and recommendations to the agency staff on the procedure of the external assessment by ENQA.
At the end of the seminar, President of IQAA, Professor Kalanova Sh. thanked Maria Kelo for collaboration and pointed to the achievements of the agency in the sphere of quality assurance in higher education institutions in Kazakhstan, and compliance of the activities by the agency with Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG, 2015).
